We can't say enough good things about Jim. Both my husband and I are in our late 50s and noticed a substantial loss of hearing. My hearing loss seems to run in the family and my husband's was due to a traumatic hearing loss during military training. We were both hesitant to start using hearing aides because we thought we were just too young. Jim explained how important it is for us both socially and cognitively to stay on top of our hearing loss at this younger age. He explained how the loss would most likely progress over the years and the sooner we are able to address the issue honestly, the better it will be for our over all health to correct our hearing loss now. Jim came to our home and spent a great deal of time with both of us going over our hearing tests and helping us to select the best aide for our individual needs. He has been back to our house several times patiently helping us and answering our questions. Jim is quick to reply to a text or a phone call. C SpinelliIf I could give this place a 10-star review, I would. My review is from the perspective of a family member of someone with hearing loss. For years, I've watched my dad waste time and money on over-the-counter hearing aids that promised miracles but delivered endless frustration. Calls to customer service, shipping back broken hearing aids, and dealing with tracking numbers and returns that got "lost in the mail" – it was awful, and all the while he couldn't hear. It hurt to see my father sitting with us but unable to join in conversations because of his junk hearing aids. Once he said, "When people talk to me, sometimes I just nod my head like I can hear, but I have no idea what they're saying." This way of being spilled over and affected everything – doctor appointments, watching TV, and when he was with family and friends. He tried hearing aids from Amazon, TV ads, and Costco. No matter the cost, they never worked right. I can only imagine the thousands of dollars he spent on this stuff. Dad recently explained he was buying replacement hearing aids from the company that lost the broken ones he sent back. I urged him to get a real hearing exam by an audiologist. Thank goodness he agreed because it's been a literal life-changer. Enter Dr. Jim Coyne of Coyne Audiology. From the get-go, he showed us what real hearing care looks like. First, Jim brought his expertise straight to Dad's home. No more struggling to get to appointments. And it also means Dad's hearing exam happened where he spends most of his time. Jim took the time to thoroughly check my dad's hearing and figure out the exact type of hearing loss he has. Jim taught us that not all hearing loss is the same. Over-the-counter hearing aids amplify all sounds instead of just the ones the person is having difficulty hearing. No wonder they never worked. The hearing aids Jim prescribed were a perfect fit. Conversations aren't a chore anymore. My dad is back – joining in, laughing, and part of the family again. It's like watching him come back to life. What sets Coyne Audiology apart is the ongoing care. Jim didn't disappear after the sale. He checks in regularly and fine-tunes the hearing aids so they perform optimally. He truly cares about his patients' comfort and success. Jim took care of the insurance side of things. That was a relief because it covered part of the cost. Understandably, insurance never covered Dad's OTC hearing aids. The joy of watching a loved one being able to reconnect with the world has been priceless. This is a wonderful resource for those that can’t get out of the house easily and still need their hearing checked and to be fitted with hearing aids.
